Shaking things up
From the start, I’ve envisioned this project as something living—a core idea that can grow, shift, and evolve as new ideas bubble to the surface. One piece I’ve been wrestling with is: How do you track your progress week over week? It’s a small question with a big impact, and I’ve been slowly chipping away at it.
Now, I’m excited to say that a solution is coming in next week’s issue.

Inspired by polyomino-style tabletop games, the adventure map is getting a major update—reimagined as a city- or town-building game. Each day, you’ll use your earned AP to place buildings or features on your map. At the end of the week, you’ll total your score. And if you keep a junk journal, you can cut out and collect your maps to track your progress over time.
This change also opens the door for future updates: new building types, alternate scoring methods, and more variety from week to week. I’ve been beta testing it in my own Daily D6, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Weekly Encounter
The wind shifts, carrying the scent of salt and seaweed. Through the trees ahead, you catch glimpses of something shimmering—water. As you approach, you find a small, hidden cove with a rowboat resting on the shore. No oars. No footprints. Just a note pinned to the seat: "It’s time."
Roll your D6 to discover your fate or pay 3AP to skip the encounter
…you step into the boat, and it drifts off on its own, guided by a current that wasn’t there a moment ago - Gain 1XP
…you search the shoreline and find a second note tucked into the rocks: "Not yet. Wait for the stars." - Lose 1AP
…you sit in the boat, unsure, until a soft voice whispers behind you, though no one is there - Nothing happens
…you walk away from the boat, but when you glance back—it’s gone. Only the note remains, fluttering in the sand - Gain 1AP
…you tip the boat slightly to inspect it, revealing a hidden compartment containing a map and a compass - Gain 2XP
…you get in and push off, only to see lights begin to glow beneath the water, forming a path into the open sea - Lose 2AP + Gain 2XP
