This time of year always marks the start of a Gilmore Girls rewatch, accompanied by a slow sip of some spiced libation. In other words, it’s cozy season—the time for Stardew Valley, Schitt’s Creek, and Lord of the Rings. Well, for me, it especially means Lord of the Rings.
I can’t quite put my finger on why, but the autumn weather and falling leaves spark a deep urge to rewatch (or reread) the trilogy. Have I seen it a hundred times? Yes. Do I enjoy pointing out “fun facts” every single time? Absolutely. Will that stop me from watcing it all again? Nope.

☣️ Encounter: The Fuming Bog
You enter a swamp where the water bubbles with green fumes, and the air stings your lungs. Every step risks sinking into the acidic mire. Shapes writhe beneath the surface, and the smell of sulfur burns your nose.
What do you do?
Step carefully along the roots of twisted trees. (+2 XP)
