Keep your eyes peeled 👀

For those inquiring why we decided to add enemies to the map of Daily D6, the short answer is to introduce more pieces to the puzzle each week that can be customized.

The long answer…?

Part of what I love about gaming is the multitude of potential combinations that can cause a player to approach the same game with a different strategy. Whether that manifests in receiving different goods for the same action in different games, or in how the variability of a deck of cards can dramatically impact how you play a card game. The puzzle that gets generated with multiple random input variables provides for an interesting problem to solve.

In the case of Daily D6, the enemies serve this purpose twice over. Firstly, different enemies of different difficulties with different rewards introduce greater variability. Secondly, their position on the map each week provides another consideration for where you place features.

Thanks for being here, and good luck, adventurers!

🏔️ Encounter: The Frozen Pass

You trek through a narrow pass where icy winds howl between jagged cliffs. The ground is slick, and shadows seem to move in the snowdrifts.

What do you do?

  1. Climb a ridge to scout the safest path. (+2 XP)

  2. Build a small fire and wait out the worst of the storm. (+1 XP)

  3. Push ahead recklessly, ignoring the signs of danger. (–2 XP)

  4. Offer food to a wandering traveler for companionship. (+3 XP)

  5. Attempt to mark the path for others with cairns. (+2 XP)

  6. Challenge the storm directly, shouting into the winds. (–1 XP)
